Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service during the checkout process. The incumbent should have a friendly demeanor, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently. The incumbent will play a crucial role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Requirements

• Grade 12.
• One (1) year experience as a Cashier, or similar role.
• Proficiency in using a point of sale (POS) system.
• Excellent computer literacy capabilities.
• High level of accuracy.

Key Result Areas

• Scan or enter price code on the till.
• Search item on computer if not price coded.
• Count float to check for correctness.
• Process cash and electronic transactions.
• Write out cash sales in manual invoice book if system is offline & transfer to the computer once online.
• Reconcile daily transactions.
• Process Credits and refund Customer or credit account if no additional invoice is required.
• Participate in bi-annual stock stocks.

• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be flexible and energetic.
• Must operate on a high level of integrity.
• In our fast-paced environment, the candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, being able to work in a team and individually with total integrity.
