Office Assistant / Office Cleaner (x2)  Durban, Westville.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and efficient workplace. Core duties include cleaning workspaces, boardrooms and restrooms (if needed) alongside preparing beverages for staff and guests. The role ensures hygiene standards are met while supporting daily office hospitality.

Main Responsibilities:

Office Cleaning & Hygiene 

  • Daily Maintenance: Dust, polish, and sanitize desks, tables, and office fittings.
  • Floors & Surfaces: Sweep, mop, and vacuum all office floors, carpets.
  • Kitchens: Deep clean and disinfect sinks, and kitchen counters regularly.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash bins, and dispose of refuse in designated areas.
  • Cleaning / Rinsing of coffee machines twice daily.

Hospitality & Catering: 

  • Beverage Prep: Prepare, serve tea, coffee, and water for management, and clients.
  • Meeting Rooms: Set up, arrange, and clear refreshments for meetings, training sessions, and executive visits.
  • Crockery Maintenance: Wash, dry, and pack away used mugs, glasses, and kitchen utensils.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor Supplies: Track inventory for groceries (tea, coffee, sugar, milk) and cleaning materials (detergents, paper towels, toilet paper).
  • Replenish & Report: Keep kitchens and restrooms consistently stock and notify management when reordering is required.
  • Stock control of coffee beans and hot chocolate.
  • Stock control of beverages for board meetings.

Ad-Hoc Duties

  • General Upkeep: Ensure office windows, glass doors, and reception desk remain smudge-free.
  • Office support: Assist with ad-hoc clerical tasks like shredding, photocopying, organizing storage, and assist with reception duties as requested.

Required Qualification & Experience: 

  • Grade 12 (or equivalent literacy and numeric level)
  • 1-3 years of verifiable experience as an office cleaner, tea lady, or in general hospitality.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stretch, and perform manual tasks throughout the workday.
  • Impeccable personal hygiene and a net appearance, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
  • Good communication skills and a professional polite, and welcoming demeanor.
