Role Purpose:

  • To execute the receiving, issuing, counting, safeguarding and disposal of stock items to and from the packaging and Ingredients store.

Required Qualifications:

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Forklift license

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-years experience in a similar environment

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

       Skills -

  • System skills (SAP/Sysproc)
  • Numeric skills equivalent to Grade 12
  • Well developed reading, listening and communication skills
  • Organisational awareness
 
Key responsibilities of the role:

1.1.  Stores Operations Execution

  • Receive, store, issue, return and dispose of materials and stock items in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures and Company standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow into and out of the store.
  • Ensure high levels of housekeeping are maintained.
  • Accept all deliveries of stock for the stores including ensuring that they are not damaged, and that everything ordered is present and accounted for.
  • Check that the Purchase Order number is reflected on the delivery note/ invoice for the delivery being made so as to eliminate problems on capturing into the system.
  • Assist with the loading and off-loading of both stock and non-stock items.
  • Esure all stock is binned neatly and correctly on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that system ransactions are processed promptly in conjunction with the Stores Administrator
  • Return stock to suppliers for repairs, where necessary.
  • Ensure all stock has serial numbers.
  • Complete GRN of stock received from suppliers and forward to the Stores Supervisor/ Administrator.
  • Introduce all stock delivered into the store.
  • Draw and despatch items from the stores as requested and process in accordance with delegations of authority and system requirements.
  • Communicate all delivery/collection problems to the Stores Supervisor.
  • Assist suppliers and production team at the issue and receiving counter in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Capture all documents (Goods receipts, issues, etc) prior to start of  the next shift each day.
  • Check the signatures on SSR's in terms of the authority manual
  • Maintain all related records and reports, as required.
  • Implement required documentation, categorisation and any labelling per Group standards.
  • Maintain timely input to SAP / Syspro and ensure accurate stock transaction records.

 

1.2. Stock and Inventory Control

  • Track the stock and inventory in the store.
  • Organise inventory to facilitate accessibility and safety for those working in the store.
  • Assist with stock counts to ensure reconciliation between records and actuals.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts to ensure that the system and actual stock levels balance.

 

1.3. Safety and Security

  • Safeguard the stock in the stores at all times against loss and damage.
  • Comply with applicable company policies including those pertaining, but not limited to health, safety, environment, risk and quality, including HACCP/ISO.
  • Conduct housekeeping in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to the Farms Risk Management System requirements and standards in order to assist management in meeting and exceeding specific risk management objectives and targets.

 

1.4. Effective Teamwork and Self-Management

  • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.
  • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.

  • Query / Error Resolution rate
  • Expiring stock / Aging Stock
