Role Purpose:

  • To drive food safety, quality, and compliance on the production floor by monitoring processing activities, verifying adherence to Rainbow’s Total Integrated Management System (TIMS), and supporting operations to consistently achieve safe, legal, and high‑quality food products in an added‑value environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Matric with Mathematics and Science.
  • Food Safety / Food Technology–related qualification or training (e.g., HACCP training).
  • Experience in a food-processing environment (poultry, FMCG, meat, bakery, ready-to-eat, or added-value manufacturing).
  • Understanding of GMP, HACCP, CCP/OPRP controls, traceability, and hygiene requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Safety Compliance
  • Monitor adherence to ISO, GMP, HACCP, regulatory, and customer food-safety requirements.
  • Verify hygiene, sanitation, cross-contamination controls, allergen management, and product handling standards.
  • Ensure correct use of PPE, hand hygiene practices, and housekeeping in accordance with Rainbow procedures.

Quality Control & Process Monitoring

•  Conduct routine inspections, sampling, product assessments, and process Verifications throughout production.

•  Check conformance to quality parameters, specifications, OWI instructions, and process-control limits.

•  Identify and record deviations and escalate issues in real time.

Corrective & Preventive Action Support

  • Follow up on implementation of corrective actions and ensure timely close-out of nonconformances.
  • Assist operational teams with problem-solving related to quality and process stability.
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce losses and complaints.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records including check sheets and verification forms.
  • Prepare quality trend reports and graphs for management review.
  • Highlight emerging risks, process drifts, or repeat deviations.

Continuous Improvement & Culture Building

  • Promote strong food-safety and quality culture.
  • Support QA and Operations with training on food-safety and quality basics.
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned to Rainbow’s Values and TIMS standards.
