Scales Technician Worcester

Role Purpose:

The Scale Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of computer weight grading system and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve technical issues.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum qualification N5 - Electronics

Required Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role
Experience in poultry industry advantageous

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Computer literacy.
Weighing Systems and Scales.
Working knowledge of PLC’s, sensors, VLT’s etc.
Ability to work independent with minimal supervision.
Good problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
Ability to lead junior staff members like junior technicians, handymen and assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining and repairs of computer weight grading & shop floor systems.
Maintaining and repairing of shop floor systems.
Verification of scales to SANAS standards.
Maintenance on instrumentation and PLC equipment.
Programming of PLC’s.
Maintenance of all electronic mass meters at the Processing Plant.
Liaison with customers regarding sourcing of equipment and quotations.
Staying abreast of new developments in field.
Project planning and execution.
