ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Risk Management Ensure risk governance by: Developing frameworks, policies and strategies. Managing risk management technology and tools. Establishing and maintaining risk committee oversight. Manage ERM staff. Manage liaison with various stakeholders. Align risk, strategy and performance by: Incorporating risk management into strategy. Operationalize risk appetite. Embed risk management in business processes. Enhance risk culture by: Fostering risk awareness. assigning accountability and ownership. developing enterprise-wide risk management skills. Manage the ERM process effectively through identifying, assessing, responding, monitoring and reporting risks. Provide guidance on the risk identification and completing the risk registers across the departments. Aggregation of risks across the departments and reporting risk in an integrated manner. Manage the automation of risk management activities. Financial Prepares and manages budget for the department. Promote value creation and preservation by attainment of target by departments through application of risk management initiatives. Resources and Assets Recommends the acquisition and disposal of assets. Human Apply human resource policies and practices that ensure attraction, development and retention of talented staff. Ensure that employees are suitably qualified, experienced, motivated and rewarded. Discipline staff in accordance with set human resource policies and procedures. Mentors and coaches team. Entrench a culture of performance management within the department. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, accounting, business or related field and relevant risk management training. Master’s degree in risk management would be an added advantage. Professional qualification and membership will be an added advantage. Experience Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in a risk management environment, preferably 2 to 3 years in a specialist role or equivalent in a bank. Understanding of the Bank’s products, services, and competitors’ product lines.
