Apprenticeship opportunities for 2024

Gold One Modder East Operation is a gold mine situated in Springs in the East Rand and approximately 30kms East of Johannesburg, in the Gauteng Province. For the Financial Year 2024, Gold One Modder East Operation is offering opportunities to internal and external candidates to apply for the below apprenticeship positions:

  • FITTER X6
  • EARTH-MOVING MECHANIC (EMM) X5
  • ELECTRICIANS (Heavy Current) X6
  • AUTO ELECTRICIANS X5
  • BOILERMAKER X6
  • PLUMBING X2

Requirements:

  • Complete N2 Engineering (will be required to upload copy of certificate).
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required and essential.
  • Flexibility is required and essential (able to work rotation shifts).
  • Must be able to work underground.
  • Proof of residence is required (preference would be given to those from within Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality – Municipal Wards 71, 72, 73, 75, and 97) as immediate mine hosting communities. This however does not imply exclusion of other deserving potential candidates from within the Far East Ehurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.                       
  • South African Citizenship (will be required to upload certified copy of ID).
  • Clear Criminal Record (Candidates will be subjected criminal screening prior to engagement).
  • All candidates must be medically fit.
  • Must be 18 years and or above.
