Role Purpose:

• To ensure proper servicing, repairing and maintenance of all welding work. Main focus should be on breakdowns on mechanical equipment, with reference to welding repairs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Service, repairs and maintenance of all welding work.
• Breakdowns on mechanical equipment, with reference to welding repairs
• Safety inspection and reports.
• Research and development – upgrade equipment for improved performance and reduction of maintenance cost.
• Execute Planned maintenance program.
• Cover shift as per the business requirement(s)
• Maintain good housekeeping in line with the OHSA requirements

 

Required Qualifications:

• Grade 12 and NTC 3 (relevant trade)
• Trade test as a Welder

 

Required Experience:

• 5-years relevant experience (post qualification).

 

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to co-ordinate projects.
• Prepared to work shifts, standby, call outs and overtime when required.
• Ability to do fabrications and welding, especially Argon Welding.
• Must have code 08 drivers' license.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Knowledge of poultry processing equipment would be an advantage.
• Physically fit and able to work in cold conditions, typically below -40 degrees.
